Descended from a long line of African witch-priestesses, Ororo Monroe evolved from a street-thief to become one of the most powerful members of the X-Men.

When she was six years old, Ororo's parents were killed during the Suez Crisis. Ororo was buried under the rubble next to her dead mother's body - an experience which gave her an intense claustrophobia.  She became a prolific thief on the streets of Cairo under the tutelage of master thief, Achmed el-Gibar and wandered into the Serengeti as a young woman.  When her mutant powers began to appear, she was worshipped as a rain goddess before being recruited by Professor X into the X-Men under the code-name 'Storm'.

Ororo retained her powers after M-Day, but left the X-Men to return to Africa where she married Black Panther (T'Challa), becoming the Queen of Wakanda.  The pair temporarily became part of the Fantastic Four in place of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman.

Storm is a exceptional athlete and thief.  She is psychically linked to the weather patterns of Earth, allowing her to command the weather; rain, snow, hail, fog and lightning.  She can manoeuvre herself through the sky, create hurricane winds, raise or lower temperatures, create a pressure dome that can deflect attacks and fire electrical blasts from her fingertips.  A gifted strategist, she also has latent magical abilities, telepathic immunity and is skilled in close combat.
