Christopher Summers (aka Corsair, father of Cyclops, Havok and Vulcan) was enslaved by the alien Shi'ar.  After jailbreaking with his fellow prisoners Ch'od, Raza and Hepzibah, they formed the Starjammers, a group of space pirates.  

The team has allied forces with the X-Men and has included illustrious members such as Carol Danvers when she was Binary, and Professor X and Lilandra during the fight against Deathbird.
